Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia join effort for tourism development

(VOVworld) – An international seminar will be held in Phan Thiet city in Binh Thuan on Friday to find ways to boost tourism development among Vietnam’s central coastal region, southeastern region, and the Central Highlands, Lao southern provinces, and Cambodia’s northeast provinces.

The information was released at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday.

The event is expected to attract more than 500 delegates from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, domestic and foreign investors and travel agents. The seminar aims to assess advantages and the current development of these areas towards outlining policies and solutions to tap the potential of each area in combination with create more tourist products.

Doctor Tran Du Lich, head of the Consultative Group on Development Cooperation in Central Coast, said that “Vietnam has a huge tourism potential which hasn’t been fully tapped. Tourism is the area to bring in extremely high added value. It’s hoped that the workshop will be a good start not only for Binh Thuan but the Central Highlands and the central region to promote their tourism potential.”

During the 2-day event, there will be forums for investors and travel agents both at home and abroad, a dialogue for investors who want to invest in Binh Thuan, and an international tourism exhibition attended by 19 provinces of Vietnam and Laos.
