(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on Friday held a ceremony to mark the World Meteorological Day in Hanoi.

Under the theme, “ Powering our future with weather, climate and water”, the event focuses on the significance of the weather, climate and water information to the socio-economic fields. It also helps solve challenges the mankind will face in the future especially in the effort to mitigate the climate change and natural disasters. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Tran Hong Ha said at the event."This year’s event priorities the mitigation of natural disasters as the priority. International organizations and other countries should cooperate with Vietnam in climate change and meteorological issues and continue supporting Vietnam to modernize its network of meteorological observations to deal with climate change. Vietnam will do its best and fulfill all the tasks as a member of the World Meteorological Organization".
