(VOVworld) - Vietnam has made a remarkable improvement in the Global Innovation Index 2015 (GII 2015), jumping from 71st last year to 52nd this year, according to the latest report conducted by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This was announced at a press briefing held by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi on Tuesday. The report indicated that Vietnam ranks 3rd in the Southeast Asian region, after Singapore and Malaysia. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac attributed the success to significant reforms in scientific and technological activities and management mechanisms in recent years. He said: "This is thanks to joint efforts by businesses and related management agencies. The Ministry of Science and Technology will seek solutions to remaining problems as soon as possible. Most of the shortcomings are related to administrative procedures and legal documents, which require cooperation and joint-efforts from all ministries and related agencies."
