(VOVworld)- On Wednesday, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a seminar on applying ITC in implementing social security programs.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Trong Dam stressed the need to build a national database on social security: “The application of ICT in implementing social security programs remains limited. In the near future, we need to develop a more comprehensive, broader, uniform, and shared social security system. To this end, we need to develop a strong management system based on the application of ITC”.
The state budget allocated for social security is between 3 and 4 billion USD annually. Vietnam now has more than 2.6 million beneficiaries or 3% of Vietnam’s population benefiting from monthly social allowances. By 2020, it’s estimated that about 3 million people will benefit from regular allowances.
