(VOVworld)- Vietnam welcomed nearly 8 million foreign visitors in 2015, 1% higher than in 2014.

At a meeting to review Vietnam’s tourism activities in 2015, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Van Tuan said there were 57 million domestic tourists in 2015 and total revenue from tourism reached more than 150 million USD. The exemption of visas for 15 days for tourists from France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and Belarus contributed to the surge of foreign arrivals. Vietnam aims to welcome 8.5 million foreign arrivals in 2016, 6% higher than 2015 and earn more than 160 million USD from tourism.
