Vietnam’s international tourism fair opens in Hanoi
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is transforming its tourism industry into an economic spearhead, said Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2018 in Hanoi on Thursday.

Mr. Dam, who is also Head of the State Steering Committee on Tourism, emphasized that Vietnam will work with economies around the world to promote sustainable tourism by engaging more people in this process.
"I praise efforts by local authorities in addressing challenges facing businesses to create a safe and friendly tourist environment in Vietnam. Hopefully that we can make full use of information technology to connect governments, businesses, and people, to boost tourism development.", said Dam.
Themed “Online tourism – Vietnam moves towards Industry 4.0”, the fair drew the participation of nearly 700 travel businesses, hotels, tourism services and promotion centres from many countries and territories, including South Korea, Japan, France, the UK, Germany, and Australia. The tourism fair will run until Sunday.
