The document analyzes and evaluates Vietnam’s manufacturing and processing industry, identifies problems and recommends solutions. The document recommends increasing added value and improving technology to boost industrialization in the context of the 4^th Industrial Revolution. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said the White Book will be an effective tool for policy makers and researchers to make Vietnamese industry move forward. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thuy, Head of  the publication’s compilation team, said: “In the White Book, we make specific recommendations for each and every sector. For the manufacturing sector, we look at strategic issues and the need to increase added value and trade quality, as well as the industrial capacity of FDI. We also recommend more focus on the value chain. Everything is aimed at increasing domestic capability, promoting the productivity of the manufacturing processing sector, and increasing links between FDI and domestic production.”
