(VOVWORLD) - The art program “Strong and rich from national sea” took place Saturday night at Nha Trang Military Port in Khanh Hoa province. The program, co‑organized by the Voice of Vietnam, the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission, the General Politics Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Khanh Hoa province, spreads love of the sea and highlights the country’s achievements in realizing Party Resolution 36 on sustainable development of the marine economy until 2030 and Vision to 2045.

Using music, images, and stories, the program spreads messages about love of the sea, national self-esteem, and determination to defend national sovereignty over the sea and islands as well as the aspiration to conquer and gain wealth from the sea.
Meaningful stories
The 90-minute program features three themes: “Sea Consciousness”, “Vietnam to Become Rich from the Sea”, and “Vietnam to Become Strong from the Sea”.
Head of the VOV3 Music Department Emeritus Artist Doan Truong Nguyen, who is music chief of the program, said: "All of the content was delivered through reports, interviews, talkshows on the stage, and particularly music. The program featured messages, guidelines of the Party and the government and the spirit of Party Resolution 36 on sustainable development of the marine economy."
In addition to its artistic value and scale, the program included stories shared by experts and researchers who contributed opinions to the marine economic development strategy.
The last segment featured 300 soldiers representing the Coast Guard force, showing their determination and unity to protect the national sea and islands and national sovereignty.
Colonel Bui Duy Chau, former lecturer at the Navy Academy, said: "I’m very moved, honored, and proud to receive a gift with a bottle of sea water taken by soldiers of a submarine from a deep-sea area. The gift is of great honor and a gesture of gratitude for us. We strongly believe that our armed forces at sea will firmly defend national sea and islands."
Spreading a message about love of the sea and islands
Watching the program directly at Nha Trang Military Port, audience members are captivated by the its magnitude and messages of love for the sea and islands. Duong Hoai Bao Han, a student at Le Thanh Ton High School, Nha Trang city, said she was really impressed.
"What impressed me the most was that the stage was set on a very beautiful beach. There is also a spectacular and modern stage on Yet Kieu ship. I feel really proud. I believe that anyone who watches this program will feel more love for Vietnamese sea," said Han.
60-year old fisherman Cao Van Tho in Nha Trang city has spent nearly two-thirds of his life at sea. He thinks of the sea as his home. Tho says he was overwhelmed with emotion when watching reports on the sea and islands and listening to songs about love for the sea.
Tho said: "The show is very interesting, encouraging us to attach more to the sea. It also covers the Party and State care for fishermen. The program makes us more confident that we, the fishermen, are not alone at sea but accompanied by coastguards and border soldiers."
Aspiring to become rich from the sea
The art and political program “Strong and Rich from National Sea” affirms that Vietnam is a maritime country with an eternal aspiration to conquer the sea, prosper from the sea and defend peace at sea, and with the determination to defend national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
Pham Manh Hung, VOV Vice President and Chief Organizer of the Program, said: "We hope that the program will spread a strong message about love of the sea and pride of the national sea and islands as well as a sense of responsibility of Vietnamese people for promoting, exploiting, and preserving the Vietnamese sea to serve national development in the immediate and long term."
Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Director General of the General Politics Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, praised the implications of the program.
"The program will make authorities at all levels better aware of and more responsible for defending national sea and islands, strengthening and expanding international cooperation in sustainable use, management, and protection of the sea and oceans as well as improving capacity in coping with non-traditional security challenges at sea." said Mr. Quyet.
With a harmonious combination of topical issues and political discourse with special art performances and spectacular staging, the art program "Strong and Rich from National Sea" has rekindled Vietnamese people’s pride and love of the sea and their determination to protect national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
