Organized by the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in partnership with the Central Coordination Office for New Rural Areas and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, this event seeks to promote Vietnamese OCOP goods on the global stage.
VIETNAM OCOPEX 2024 features 250 booths representing over 150 OCOP-certified enterprises, categorized by region and product type. The event hosts trade representatives, international buyers, and both local and foreign distributors, facilitating connections with OCOP producers to diversify procurement options and assess emerging Vietnamese products with export potential. This platform also serves to align supply with demand, offering importers a chance to explore Vietnam’s unique OCOP offerings for international markets.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, said: "We aim to elevate the OCOP brand of Vietnam, as well as the brands of enterprises and cooperatives. Integrating OCOP products into foreign distribution channels is also a priority, in partnership with other organizations."
The VIETNAM OCOPEX 2024 also features a business connecting corner and a seminar titled "Connecting and Promoting OCOP Products in Modern Overseas Distribution Systems." Vietnam currently boasts over 14,000 OCOP products and 7,800 OCOP-certified entities, with 4-star rated products accounting for 26%. Forty-six products are rated 5 stars, but only 2% of them meet export standards.
This exhibition provides OCOP businesses with a gateway to connect with foreign enterprises and foreign trade promotion agencies in Vietnam. The event also includes discussions with import-export specialists to enhance sustainable production practices. For participating localities, OCOP products are widely promoted to global supply chains while businesses have opportunities to create new cooperative ventures with international partners.
