Many of the field hospitals in HCM City have organized special events to celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival. In Field Hospital No.1, doctors and nurses in protective suits sing to their young patients and give them gifts. And the children sing along, very happy to have received some gifts.
In Field Hospital No.4 in Binh Chanh district, where 530 child patients are struggling with COVID-19, health workers and volunteers have organized lion dances, a lantern procession, and a Mid-autumn Festival feast for the children, who have received mooncakes, milk, juice, and lanterns.
Doctor Nguyen Tran Nam, Deputy Director of the field hospital, said, 'Mid-autumn is a festival for children. We gave gifts to the child patients to console them and encourage them to stay strong against the pandemic.'
This year, the Mid-autumn Festival arrived amid a pandemic, so public celebrations are restricted. But field hospitals are not letting the occasion pass without celebrating.
Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Youth Union and Chairman of the Youth Association of Binh Duong province, said. 'We visited and presented gifts to the children while wearing protective suits. We want to share the children’s burden and encourage them to stay strong.'
110 child patients in Field Hospital No.1 in Dak Lak province have also received gifts to celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival.
