(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has successfully concluded his Europe trip to attend the UN climate change conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, visit the UK and pay an official visit to France. The trip, from October 31 to November 5, ushers in new cooperation prospects for Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s attendance at COP26 delivered an important message about Vietnam’s commitment to climate change response and moving toward a green economy. The trip also created several cooperation opportunities with the UK and France, Vietnam’s two principal partners in Europe.
Vietnam’s responsibility for addressing global challenges
COP26 was a major global event that drew the close attention of the international community amid worsening effects of climate change. At the conference, Vietnam reiterated its commitments as a developing country to the global effort to fight climate change.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said, 'Every country needs to make a strong commitments to greenhouse emissions reduction, grounded in the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, capacities, and circumstances. Let me take this opportunity to call for justice and fairness in the fight against climate change. Our historic commitments and actions will help preserve a green planet, a sustainable habitat, and lasting happiness for generations to come.'
The international community and foreign partners praised Vietnam’s commitment and pledged to work closely with the country to boost green growth and circular economy. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said, 'Statements by leaders of countries and economic groups at the conference reflected their attention to Vietnam. We see opportunities for other countries to collaborate with Vietnam to shift the growth model toward green agriculture, low-emission agriculture, and adaptive agriculture.'

Vietnam reiterates determination to attract investors
During the trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with leaders of organizations, economic groups, and big businesses, witnessed the signing of 26 cooperative agreements on trade, agriculture, energy, health care, education, environmental protection, and sports competition between Vietnam and other countries. The agreements worth billions of USD will create great opportunities for Vietnam to attract more investment.
The Nike Group pledged to expand its investment in Vietnam. AstraZeneca signed a contract to provide more than 25 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam with the first batch to be delivered next month. Bamboo Airways announced the first direct route between Vietnam and the UK.
During his official visit to France, Prime Minster Chinh met with French leaders and held talks with Prime Minister Jean Castex.
The two sides reached a consensus on a number of issues and affirmed their determination to deepen the strategic partnership they signed in 2013.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said, 'During the visit, high-ranking leaders of the two countries agreed to develop an annual action plan to boost the Vietnam-France strategic partnership. The action plan will cover politics, diplomacy, defense, security, economics, trade, investment, culture, education, and health care. I believe that the Vietnam-France strategic partnership will continue to prosper.'
The Prime Minister’s visit has deepened mutual political trust between Vietnam and the visited countries and created opportunities for stronger future cooperation.
