Thousands brave rain for parade rehearsal in Ho Chi Minh City

Rehearsal for the military-civil parade takes place solemnly in the city centre, featuring participation of military, police, militia, self-defense units, armed forces, youth volunteers, students, and public organisations.

Marching contingents reflect the proud and heroic historical journey of Vietnam and highlight achievements in national construction and development over the past 50 years.

Despite unfavorable weather, crowds line major streets such as Le Duan, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, and Pasteur to capture memorable moments.

The city centre is filled with emotion and patriotism scenes.

The commemorative ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on April 30 at Le Duan Boulevard in front of the Independence Palace.

A national-level military parade is set to take place at 8:00 a.m., with participation from Vietnam’s armed forces and police units, along with visiting troops from China, Laos, and Cambodia.

An Air Force flyover will feature helicopters, YAK-130 aircraft, and Su-30MK2 fighter jets.

The full program will be broadcast live through the national radio and television system.

Fireworks shows, art performances, exhibitions, and community events are planned across the city.

(VOVWORLD) - Despite heavy rain on Friday evening, thousands of residents and tourists in Ho Chi Minh City patiently stood in the rain to witness a rehearsal of the military-civil parade in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30).
