(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Saturday met with heroic Vietnamese mothers and former leaders at the central level, Military Region 9, Can Tho city, and Hau Giang province, on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

During the meeting, Chairman Man informed of Vietnam’s socio-economic development, and the Party and State’s major policies, including streamlining the apparatus and merging provinces and cities.
He emphasized the importance of internal solidarity and unity for mutual development, noting priorities of developing the Mekong Delta, especially Can Tho city.
Mr. Man expressed his respect and gratitude for the heroic Vietnamese mothers’ significant contributions to the country's peace and independence.
