(VOVWORLD) - From 4:00 p.m. on Sunday to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Vietnam recorded 3,123 new COVID-19 cases, including 1 imported case and 3,122 domestic cases in 53 out of 63 provinces and cities.
In the past 24 hours, there were 10 localities without any new cases of COVID-19. Vietnam’s caseload has to date reached 10,656,649.
An additional 1,090 recoveries were announced on Monday, raising the total number of recoveries so far to 9,265,456. In the past 24 hours, 2 more deaths from COVID-19 were reported.
By Monday, Vietnam administered nearly 215 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including more than 1.52 million doses (1st dose) of vaccines that have been safely administered to children from 5 to under 12 years old.
The Advisory Council on Vaccine Use at the Ministry of Health has agreed that the 4th dose will be administered to people aged 50 or older, people aged 18 or older with moderate to severe immunodeficiency, and people aged 18 or older who are at high risk of exposure to COVID-19: health workers, frontliners, and workers in industrial zones.
The 4th dose is given at least four months after the 3rd dose, said the Council.
