Team Vietnam advance to 2024 AFF Futsal Championship final
(VOVWORLD) -On Friday afternoon in Thailand, the Vietnamese futsal team secured a dramatic last-minute victory over the Australians thanks to a penalty kick, advancing to the ASEAN Futsal Championship final.

After two rounds, Vietnam and Australia tied 3-3 and had to play extra time. In the last minute, Thinh Phat successfully kicked a 10m penalty to help Vietnam win 5-4 and reach the final.
In another semi-final match on the same day, Indonesia beat Thailand 5-1, advancing to the final. Vietnam are scheduled to take on Indonesia on Sunday.
In 2024 ASEAN (AFF) Futsal Championship held in Thailand, the Vietnamese team is in Group A with hosts Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei and Timor Leste. Group B includes Indonesia, Myanmar, Australia and Cambodia.
