15 years of “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods” campaign celebrated
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s total retail sales of consumer goods and services have recorded average annual growth of 10% over the past 15 years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday to celebrate 15 years of the "Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods" campaign.

More than 80% of products at supermarkets and at least 60% of products on traditional retail channels are now made in Vietnam.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the campaign has contributed to improving the country’s competitiveness, boosting economic growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring major balance in the economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long urged further promotion of the campaign to encourage the production and consumption of Vietnamese goods.
"It is essential to draw experience to boost the campaign, raise the quality and reputation of Vietnamese products in both domestic and foreign markets, especially in markets with which Vietnam has signed free trade agreements," Deputy PM Long said.
