2022 Winter Paralympics kicks off in Beijing

(VOVWORLD) - The Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games opened on Friday evening at the National Stadium in Beijing, also known as the Bird's Nest, with a 80-minute performance.

30% of 800 performers are people with disabilities.
Addressing the ceremony, International Paralympic Committee president Andrew Parsons called on world authorities to come together to build a beautiful, tolerant and war-free world.
More than 500 athletes from 46 countries and territories will compete in 78 events in 10 days of the Games in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.
