He told Wednesday’s January rapporteur conference in Hanoi that amid challenges facing us this year, Vietnam needs to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, and ensure major balances of the economy.
“2024 is the year of acceleration, the year nearing the end of the term. So, it is necessary to give greater priority to promoting growth to make up for what we lost in the first years of our term. We do this on the basis of firmly grasping the situation, flexibility, effectiveness, tightening discipline and order, ensuring macroeconomic stability, political stability, national defense, security, and social welfare," Phuong said.
Reviewing socio-economic performance in 2023 and mapping out socio-economic development plan in 2024, Deputy Minister Phuong said that last year despite numerous difficulties, Vietnam's economy kept recovering and achieved 10 out of 15 targets set by the National Assembly.
