21-gun salute welcoming ceremony for Chinese top leader
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong hosted an official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping in Hanoi on Sunday.

The welcoming ceremony was held in the Presidential Palace with a 21-gun salute, the highest level for a head of state.
Later on, the Vietnamese and Chinese top leaders held talks in the Party Central Committee Head Office. Mr. Trong praised Mr. Xi’s Vietnam visit, the first after the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China, and his attendance of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Party leader said the visit confirms that the Chinese Party and State treasure the relationship with Vietnam, marks an important milestone, and opens a new period in the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries for each country’s development and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the wider world.
