(VOVWORLD) - A group of 35 Vietnamese doctors and health experts have been sent to Laos to help Laos fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Vietnamese team will provide Laos with ventilators, masks, and other medical equipment, and help with testing, treatment, and operating field hospitals.
A ceremony to hand over the medical supplies to the Lao Defense Ministry and welcome medical experts from the Vietnamese Defense Ministry took place at the Cau Treo–Nam Phao international border gate on Monday.
Major General Nguyen Hung Thang of the Vietnamese Defence Ministry presented medical supplies worth 130,000 USD to Lieutenant General Khamphet Sinanone, including 100,000 face masks, 500kg of CloraminB, 5,000 protective suits, 1,000 bottles of sanitizer, 1,000 quick test kits, and 1,000 hand-held thermometers.
The Vietnamese Defense Ministry sent four medical experts to Laos on this occasion.
