(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed the report on the result of the just concluded 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Hanoi.

The Head of the National Assembly’s External Relations Committee, Tran Van Hang, said that Vietnam has successfully hosted the IPU 132, showing it to be an active and responsible member of the group. The IPU President, Secretary General and international delegates spoke highly of Vietnam’s organization of the event as well as its proposals for topics of discussion at related meetings. The Hanoi Declaration was the most significant document to be approved at the IPU 132.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said it was necessary to continue to disseminate the Assembly’s results and details on sustainable development and to implement the Declaration.
The National Assembly Standing Committee is next expected to discuss the revised Law on Government Organization and Law on the Organization of Local Administrations on Thursday.
