3,898 new COVID-19 infections confirmed on Friday morning

(VOVWORLD) - The Health Ministry announced 3,898 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday morning, bringing Vietnam’s total count of infections to more than 78,000. 

The latest cases were detected in 21 localities with HCM city recording the highest numbers of infections, more than 3,300. It was followed by Long An, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Tien Giang. 

95% of the new cases were in quarantine facilities or locked down areas. 

Vietnam has recorded nearly 13,500 recoveries including over 10,600 since the 4th wave of coronavirus hit the country in late April. 

More than 4.4 million doses of vaccine have been administered across Vietnam so far.
