(VOVWORLD) - The 3rd International Yoga Day will be held on June 25 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Smita Pant, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, said the event aims to introduce the benefits of yoga, and highlight the spiritual connection between yoga practitioners in India and Ho Chi Minh City. She said this event is evidence of the close relationship between the two peoples and marks the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties.
Monk Thich Thien Tam, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council, said yoga promotes good health: “Yoga is good for our physical and spiritual health. I hope all of us, not just Buddhists, will focus more on practicing yoga and meditation.”
After the traditional lighting ritual, Indian yoga trainers will teach participants some basic yoga movements.
