4 major markets for Vietnam’s fishery exports
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam fishery exports in August are expected to reach US$739 million, bringing the total value since early this year to $5.5 billion, up 5,3% compared to the same period last year.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Japan, China, the United States and the Republic of Korea, accounted for the majority of the turnover, while the markets recording strongest growth in the value of seafood exports were Netherlands, Germany and Chinese Hong Kong.
The Department of Farm Produce Processing and Market Development said there are positive signals for Vietnam’s fishery exports in the time ahead as supply for shrimps in the India and Thailand may fall while year-end demand rises. This will bring more export opportunity for Vietnamese shrimp products.
