(VOVWORLD) - 44 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Vietnam as of Thursday noon, with all in quarantine facilities or locked-down areas, according to the Ministry of Health.
Among the new cases, 26 were reported in Bac Giang, six in Bac Ninh, four in Dien Bien, two in Hanoi, and one in Da Nang and Thai Nguyen each, and four in the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital’s branch in Tan Trieu (Hospital K), Hanoi.
The figures brought the national tally to 4,764, including 1,473 imported cases and 3,291 locally transmitted cases.
Also on Thursday, Vietnam confirmed another COVID-19 death, pushing the country's death toll to 39.
According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control’s Treatment Sub-committee, the 81-year-old male patient was admitted to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 3 with a diagnosis of cirrhosis-caused sepsis and gout.
