4th ASEAN Connectivity Symposium in Brunei

The 4th ASEAN Connectivity Symposium, entitled 'Partnering private sector for ASEAN connectivity', was held in the capital city of Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan, on Tuesday. The 140 participants included government officials, researchers, representatives of enterprises from ASEAN countries, ASEAN partners, and international organizations. The Symposium focused on the role of Public-Private Partnerships in the implementation of a master plan on ASEAN connectivity. Addressing the event, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Le Luong Minh, stressed the need to increase private sector investment in the region to reach the massive financing requirements for ASEAN connectivity projects. He said ASEAN nations need to try harder to create a favorable environment for Public-Private Partnerships which will support the ASEAN Connectivity agenda.
