At a meeting in Hanoi, the Prime Minister said that the project is crucial for national development.

“Obstacles must be overcome and the project must be put into operation and use no later than June 30, 2024,” he said and called for closer and more effective coordination among ministries, sectors, and localities.

“It’s imperative to ensure progress, quality and labor safety. All are for the benefit of the nation, the people, and the development of the country."

The extended 500kV circuit 3-line project has a total length of about 519 km and a total investment of nearly 900 million USD. It includes four components: Quang Trach-Quynh Luu; Quynh Luu-Thanh Hoa; Thanh Hoa-Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant; and Nam Dinh 1 Thermal Power Plant-Pho Noi.

Construction of these component projects began in October 2023 and January 2024.
