(VOVworld)- The 5^th session of the Central Theoretical Council opened in Hanoi on Wednesday to discuss draft reports on reforming Vietnam’s education, and scientific-technological development as well as improving the efficiency of state owned enterprises.

In his address, Dinh The Huynh, a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party’s Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communication, and President of the Central Theoretical Council stressed on the importance of the draft reports. He said that suggestions and comments on the reports would help with the preparations of documents for the 6^th plenum of the Party Central Committee. Regarding the draft report on reforming and improving the efficiency of state owned enterprises (SOEs), Mr. Huynh said: "It’s necessary to clarify the criteria we need to assess state owned enterprises in economic, political, social and national security terms. Doing this will create a social consensus over the role of SOEs in the national economy".
