6.7 magnitude earthquake hits northeast India
(VOVworld) - A major earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter Scale rocked Eastern and North Eastern parts of India early Monday, leaving 8 dead and over 100 injured.

There were reports of damage to a popular market in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, where earthquakes often take place. The number of deaths is expected to increase. The earthquake also affected India’s neighboring countries such as Bangladesh and Bhutan. India’s northeast is considered the sixth most earthquake-prone area in the world.
