(VOVWORLD) - More than 69 million voters will go to the polls to elect 500 National Assembly deputies and 3,727 deputies of the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, according to an international press conference held in Hanoi on Friday.
The election will take place on Sunday in 84,767 constituencies across the country.
Bui Van Cuong, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Chief of the National Election Council Office told reporters that preparations have been basically completed.
“All localities are ready for election day. Some localities conducting early elections ensured safety and compliance with the law. In general, the election is being implemented in sync by all levels, sectors, provinces and cities,”said Mr. Cuong.

“The election aims to implement the universal, direct and equal principle. Direct voting is the exercise of direct democracy. The functional agencies have disseminated information to voters to exercise their citizen right and paid attention to remote and disadvantaged areas.”
16 localities have been allowed by the National Election Council to carry out early voting. The election results for National Assembly deputies will be announced 20 days after the election day and 10 days after the election day for deputies of the People's Councils.
