(VOVWORLD) - As of October, Vietnam Social Security has paid more than 560 million USD to nearly 900,000 unemployed people, according to a report at Wednesday online meeting on social insurance policies.

The report said that by the end of the year, 700 million USD of unemployment insurance will have been paid to more than 1 million people. Vietnam now has more than 13 million people participating in unemployment insurance programs.
Ta Van Thao, Director of the Hanoi Job Service Center, said:
“We need to allocate resources to help Job Service Centers across Vietnam do their job, apply information technology to build a coordinated labor market database, and adopt measures to improve the Centers’ autonomy and capacity.”
