(VOVworld) - More than 90 movies will compete for the annual national film award. The Vietnam Cinema Association announced in a press conference in Hanoi today/Thursday the 2011 Golden Kite Awards will honor various categories including feature film, TV series, short film and commentaries. Chairman of Vietnam Cinema Association, Dang Xuan Hai highlights new features of this year’s awards: “Producers from all economic sectors, especially private companies, are encouraged to make movies. 10 out of 12 competing celluloid feature films are produced by private companies. We have invited overseas Vietnamese to join the competition. The socialization of the movie industry has been in line with the State policies to develop Vietnamese cinematography.”

The Golden Kite Award ceremony will take place in Hanoi on March 17.
