(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister has set the target of raising health insurance coverage to 95% by 2025.
Vietnam has so far covered 91% of the population with health insurance.
Poor and near-poor households will be provided with free health insurance over the next three years, according to the PM’s requirement.
The Ministry of Education and Training has been asked to ensure that all students will be covered with health insurance by 2023.
Health insurance was first introduced in Vietnam in 1992.
