Acting President offers incense at Kon Tum Prison Historical Site
(VOVWORLD) -During a business trip to Kon Tum province, on Sunday, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan offered incense to commemorate martyrs at the Kon Tum Prison Historical Site.

The French army, during the period of its colonial rule in Vietnam, detained political prisoners from the provinces Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Thua Thien-Hue in Kon Tum Prison, which kept more than 500 inmates at the most crowded time.
At the national historical site, Acting President Xuan also visited the Exhibition House, where many artifacts of communist soldiers and a model of the old Kon Tum Prison are kept.
The same day, the Acting President visited and presented gifts to veteran and wounded soldier Tran Dinh Thi, who joined the Tan Son Nhat airport battle of the Ho Chi Minh campaign to completely liberate the South and unify the country in 1975. She also visited and gave gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Dang Thi Thu whose husband and children are martyrs.
