(VOVworld) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, has asked press agencies to reform their performance to contribute more effectively to national development.

Mr. Nhan made the remarks while visiting the government portal on Monday, adding that he hopes the online newspaper’s leaders, reporters, technicians, and staff will increase innovation to help to build a more transparent government and become a practical link between the government and people.
A seminar was also held by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, focusing on the role of media in current affairs. Eight collectives and 9 individuals were presented with certificates of merit for their outstanding contributions to the union’s press over the past two years.
