Actress of Vietnamese origin wins Silver Bear at Berlin International Film Festival
(VOVWORLD) -Actress Laura Basuki won the Silver Bear trophy of Best Supporting Performance in the film Nana (Before Now & Then) directed by Kamila Andini, at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.

Basuki was born in Berlin in 1988 to a Chinese-Indonesian father and a Vietnamese mother. She first starred in Gara-Gara Bola (Because of Football) after being discovered by producer Nia Dinata on a magazine.
Her impressive acting skill helped Basuki win two awards at the 2009 Indonesian Film Awards.
Two years later, she played a Catholic woman in love with a Muslim man in the movie Tiga Hati, Dua Dunia, Satu Cinta (Three Hearts, Two Worlds, One Love).
The movie continued to be a great success for Basuki as she won the best actress award at the 2010 Indonesian Film Festival. Also in 2010, Basuki gained popularity as a TV host.
