Chairman of the NA’s Law Committee Nguyen Khac Dinh explained: “This unprecedented draft law creates a breakthrough in the organizational structure, viewpoint, and development orientation in the context of extensive international integration and complicated international and regional developments. As differences remain among NA deputies, experts, and voters on some contents of the draft law, the Government and the NA Standing Committee agreed to adjust the proposed land lease term of 99 years for some special cases.”

Mr. Dinh asked relevant ministries and agencies to increase communications with voters to secure a high consensus on the draft law. 

The same day, National Assembly deputies discussed revisions to the Law on Education.

“The Law on Education is of great importance in guiding Vietnam’s educational development. It’s necessary to revise the law, which was issued 10 years ago. Many voters told us that they expect the revised educational law will help resolve pending issues in education such as developing personality and ideology of life. The law has to specify Party guidelines and State policy which consider education a top national priority,” said deputy Nguyen Thanh Hai of Hoa Binh province.
