(VOVworld)- Afghan President Mohammad AShraf Ghani said the first round of quadrilateral meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan, US and China will take place on January 16 to work out a clear and comprehensive road map for a meaningful Afghan peace process.

The second round of talks will later be held in Kabul. Diplomatic efforts will get momentum with the meeting to revive the dialogue process between the Afghan government and the Taliban. President Ghani made the statement 4 days after meeting Pakistani Army Chief General Raheel Shariff. The two sides agreed to join efforts to fight rebels in Afghanistan who still continue to pursue violence.
