At a conference in Savannakhet, Laos, on Tuesday, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu, said that under the Vietnam-Laos Trade agreement, many kinds of goods will enjoy a tax rate of 0 percent or 50 percent reduction. Vietnamese and Lao enterprises will also enjoy special privileges under the Vietnam-Laos border trade agreement. Tu urged enterprises of both countries to take advantages of the agreement to boost bilateral trade ties. Mr. Tu said: “The two agreements facilitate export and import of a number of goods. For example, some products made in Laos with Vietnamese investment did not get tax privileges when they were exported back to Vietnam. These two deals will boost trade through tax and procedure privileges”.
Mr. Tu said similar conferences will be held in Vientiane and Luang Prabang to publicize the agreements.
