(VOVworld)-Vietnam has responded to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26. A group of health workers from the national program against TB have provided free healthcare service at a drug rehabilitation center in the northern province of Thai Nguyen.

Dr Le Duc Hung is from the provincial rehabilitation center: “We need to promote communications so that drug users could receive rehabilitation service at the community. We will help families and communities in technical skills to ensure success in family rehabilitation.”The southern province of Dong Thap held a meeting to call for community involvement in the fight against drug abuse. Ms Nguyen Thi Huong from the central province of Nghe An’s Department of Social Affairs comments on local efforts to prevent relapse: “Vocational training and job assistance are very important in ensuring sustainable rehabilitation for drug users. We need incentive policy to encourage businesses employ former drug addicts.”
