(VOVworld) - Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has chaired a press briefing following the successful conclusion of the 2-day ISOM-APEC meeting.

He told reporters in Hanoi on Friday that delegates reached consensus on the working agenda for the APEC year in 2017. The Deputy Foreign Minister said that 200 activities will take place nationwide, including the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang: "The informal meeting of senior officials wrapped up after 2 days of meeting to mark the first event before the APEC year. Vietnam's 2nd time of hosting the event reflect the international community's trust and credibility on Vietnam."

APEC Secretariat managing director, Alain Bollard, said he expected Vietnam to show its leadership in the APEC year to ensure consensus and trade facilitation in the Asia Pacific against emerging protectionism and anti-globalization trends.
