(VOVworld) - The 3^rd APEC air cargo security workshop has opened in  Ho Chi Minh city. The workshop is a chance to review APEC progress in securing the regional air cargo system and addressing emerging challenges while furthering cooperation among APEC members on cargo security. Attending the workshop are nearly 100 representatives from member economies and international organization such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Delegates will issue joint recommendations to be submitted to the APEC Summit in Russia this May. Assistant to the Foreign Minister and a member of the organizing board, Nguyen Ngoc Son said: “Vietnam treasures cooperation in the APEC framework, especially in fostering economic connection to facilitate trade and investment. Vietnam wants to boost cooperation in air security bilaterally and multilaterally. We have initiated many policies and measures to improve management and modernize civil aviation so that Vietnam will become a regional hub in the future."
