APEC SOM-3 has 75 meetings
(VOVWORLD) - The APEC Secretariat, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a press conference on Friday on the third Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM3) and related meetings scheduled for August 18-30 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Approximately 2,600 Vietnamese and international delegates will attend 75 meetings, workshops, and dialogues on various issues. The Ministry of Health will chair seven meetings on health-related issues. The meetings will approve relevant strategies and policies in the APEC region as well as the action plans of special working groups. The seventh High-Level Meeting on Health and Economy will be held on August 23-28 to promote Vietnam’s initiative in inclusive economic, financial and social development through the building of a sustainable financial system in public health care and a roadmap that provides all people with health services. A Week of Food Security and Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Agriculture in response to Climate Change will be held from August 18 to 25 in Can Tho City. The economy grows but numerous risks remain including reverse impacts of globalization, technological development, and the 4th industrial revolution. The meetings aim to help the people, enterprises, especially SMEs to adapt to rapid changes of technology and promote cooperation.”
