(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s garment and textile sector earned 36 billion USD from exports this year, up 16% from last year.

Le Tien Truong, General Director of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, told a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday that the industry’s growth has improved in quantity and quality. Vietnam has surpassed Bangladesh to rank 3rd in the world’s garment and textile export, after China and India.
Mr. Truong attributed the revenue surge to the shift of production facilities from China to Vietnam. Foreign investors have seen better investment opportunities in Vietnam. Vietnam’s big garment and textile companies have set high standards for both product quality and the working environment.
