(VOVworld) – The Arab League supports Saudi Arabia-led air strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, said Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi at a meeting Thursday in Egypt.

The same day, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its support for the air strikes and calling on the Houthis and their supporters not to escalate tensions.
The UK Foreign Office said the Houthis have derailed a political transition in Yemen, and that a political solution is the only way out of the Yemeni crisis. EU foreign chief Federica Mogherini also said military operations are not the solution to the current crisis.
