(VOVworld) - Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty met with the Commander of the Guangxi province military zone of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Major General Xiao Yun Hong in Hanoi on Thursday.

Senior Lieutenant General Ty said that the two countries’ relations have developed strongly with defense ties improving constantly, bringing tangible results for both sides and expressed his hope that the friendly relations between Vietnam and China will continue to grow. Major General Xiao Yun Hong said China has always placed importance on its traditional friendship with Vietnam. He suggested the two defense ministries set up a hotline and facilitate exchanges between border guard forces to create shared border of peace, stability, and development.
