(VOVworld) – The 2nd ASEAN-EU High Level Dialogue on Maritime Security Cooperation, themed "Developing Inter-Agency and Regional Cooperation", concluded Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur.

Participants discussed regional and inter-agency cooperation in fighting trans-national crime, sharing information and technological advances in maritime security, and developing regional cooperative mechanisms and an international framework to ensure safe passage for seaports and containers.
Regarding security issues in the East Sea, several attendees offered ideas for settling territorial disputes there. They acknowledged the potential benefit of the dialogue, saying it helps set up future activities and deepens ASEAN-EU relations.
The dialogue attracted over 100 scholars, diplomats, experts, and officials from ASEAN and EU member states. A Vietnamese delegation was led by Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Pham Cao Phong.
