(VOVworld) – The ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) started their two-day special meeting in the Philippines on Wednesday.

This was the 6^th meeting chaired by Malaysia as ASEAN Presidency in 2015. Representatives of the AICHR from ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat attended the event. The participants discussed the top priorities for AICHR programs in 2014-2015  and guidelines on relations between the Commission and civil social organizations and its thematic research. The organization also presented its annual report and 5-year action plan from 2016 to 2020 and its top priorities for 2016. AICHR’s next meeting is scheduled to be held in late November in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at which Malaysia will hand over AICHR’s presidency to Laos.
