King Norodom Sihamoni highlighted his wish to promote solidarity and self-reliance to create a firm foundation for ASEAN’s success, strengthen efforts to recover sustainably post-pandemic, promote harmonious socio-economic development, and deepen the friendship between ASEAN and its partners.

On behalf of ASEAN, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah who was ASEAN Chairman in 2021 and Indonesian President Joko Widodo who will chair ASEAN in 2023 expressed their belief that under Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, the ASEAN summits will be successful.

The two leaders reiterated their support for Cambodia and said the success of the summits and ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2022 will motivate  ASEAN to move forward with the spirit “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.
