(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam on Tuesday almost achieved its goal of 35-40 gold medals after winning 28 golds in three days competing at the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Surakarta, Indonesia.

Sports events that brought the most gold medals for Vietnam were swimming (5 gold medals), athletics (5 gold medals), and chess (4 gold medals). Weightlifter Le Van Cong successfully defended the championship title in the under 49 kg event on Tuesday.
On the same day, the Vietnam table tennis team won the first silver medal at the Games thanks to female athlete Le Thi Hong Huong.
